Sen. Snowe a waste and a disgrace

Sen. Snowe's move to the left and the Obama camp provided that enormous single vote that allowed The Big O to claim a "bipartisan" healthcare bill, when in fact it was anything but bipartisan. Her vote wasn't necessary to carry the bill and, as such, it became a giant poke in the collective Republican eye.

What power she had has now been squandered; Democrats have used her and can now throw her away; and she is unreliable within the GOP.

She could have stood up for meaningful change, which I define as
1. Interstate availability of healthcare insurance;
2. True tort reform;
3. A sincere program to eliminate waste and fraud in Medicare and Medicaid; and
4. genuine engagement of healthcare professionals , doctors and administrators, in defining priorities for improving the nation's healthcare system overall.

But, she completely blew it. What a shame and disgrace!

Well put! Olympia has betrayed her nation and for what? A litte power, seeking apporoval from the traitorous Democrats? Common sense is completely lost on our Nation's "Leaders" as they are too busy creating their Socialist utopia and dimantling the free market. Obama pushes us farther and faster towards third world status, we must find a way to derail this traitor train. I guess he sees himself as a despot in the making.

the mainstream media is making it sound like our country is broken, bitter and utterly shipwrecked because we didn't get the olympics.

the copenhagen trip was about marketing, sales pitch, salesmanship, communication.

flash and starpower aside, and you can define that however and for whomever you want, rio just had the better presentation.

i saw it at youtube. it made a strong emotional appeal to me and i'm happy that rio got it.

no one, no one should ever say the decision was racist. brazil has a very large percentage of african descendants. so no it was not racist because america didn't get it.

rio was the better presentation and it's only fair to give them a chance.

i am becoming more sick in heart, mind and spirit with each passing day. due to the recession my salary is halved what it used to be. it's hovering around $18K per year.

obamacare with its mandated coverage and give away to the private insurance company will force me to pay a penalty with money i don't have. i live paycheck to paycheck. a government subsidy or tax credit won't help either. a VAT will increase my electrical bill. the high deductible of even a public option won't help and neither will the freaking 35% co-pay i'll have to absorb from the insurance being formulated.

i'm being forced to choose between housing, food, clothing and utilities or health insurance.

nancy pelosi talks like she's from over the rainbow but i think there hasn't been an uprising because no one knows what is going on.

we are going to be handed over on a platter to the private insurance industry.

some reform.

While the Internet is this century's Wild West, and no sheriff is in town, the bright side is that established news organizations and legitimate, well-intentioned bloggers, now can get word out quickly and widely. Perhaps the day is not too distant when even the most hubris-bloated politicians will suddenly wake up to that fact and start acting as if they are our employees instead of looking at the rest of us as obedient staff whose only job is to provide the money.

Right on!
By the time it is all over, this will go down as one of, if not the, most destructive administrations for American capitalism and our way of life — ever.
